Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System Key Features
Alright, you’ve seen all the wonderful details of this system, now let’s just hit the highlight reel. What do you really need to know about the Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System?
Every product designed by Chicco meets and exceeds required safety standards. There are a multitude of features that make this baby safe. (Pun intended there!) From a 5 point harness to the energy absorbing foam, you can rest assured that the Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat will keep your little one safe and sound.
If your child is riding in your car rear-facing you want to make sure their head, neck and spine are all supported in case of an an accident. A Chicco designed car seat covers this situation and much more.
The Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System stroller safety features are innovative as well. The Bravo stroller only weighs 23 pounds but is very sturdy when fully unfolded. The stroller includes a high strength aluminum frame, easy access height adjustable handle, one hand fold that is self standing and auto positioning swivel wheels making this stroller one of the safest on the market today.
Easy and Quick Transfers
Have a latte in one hand and your baby in another? The one hand fold system makes it easy to unfold your stroller and click your babe right in. If you are an expecting mom, you have no idea how much you are going to appreciate this. If you are already a mom or going on a next child, you know how convenient and, frankly, necessary this feature is.
It’s also really easy to get your little one in and out of the car from the base. The KeyFit 30 is designed for the mom (or dad) with their hands full. Your kiddo will stay blissfully asleep, and you will keep your sanity.
I really love the color options and patterns on the Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System. They are timeless. The combinations of colors are subtle enough that they will last from child to child but trendy enough to be in style now.
Not only does the fabric look great, but the sleek design of the whole system is really excellent. It’s setup to help you succeed. Some travel systems are like a rubix’s cube, and most moms would never want to pay an extra few hundred dollars for the them because of being more complicated to use.
Almost every aspect of the stroller and car seat are adjustable. The handle on the stroller, the car seat tilt, the canopy are all adjustable. The list goes on and on. I like this for several reasons but mainly because no two kids are alike and it’s so convenient.
What Makes the Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System So Special?
Why should you buy this travel system over another one, why is it so special? The Chicco Bravo Trio really knocks it out of the park as an affordable travel system. I like that it can fit most budgets, it’s easy to use and install, and it’s adjustable, safe, and best of all, parent friendly.
Let’s talk first about Safety. Parents rely on a manufacturer to design a safe product. Rest assured safety is an area where Chicco excels. At Chicco child safety is priority #1.
I love that Chicco doesn’t make you question or worry about their safety features. They meet all federal regulations sure, but they go beyond that. The 5 point safety harness is the way to go. In fact, if your car seat doesn’t have that, I’d really consider getting rid of it.
The EPS energy absorbing foam really makes me feel comfortable putting my little one in it as well. In the event of a crash, your this foam is just another layer of protection between them and those terrible collision forces.
The installation process itself with the car seat is an extra precaution. It has the ReclineSure foot so that your baby is at the proper angle. Remember, they can’t hold their little heads up for quite awhile, so sitting them at the wrong angle could be a real hazard. The Ride Right bubble level is in the same category as well to keep that car seat level.
The Chicco Bravo also has the SuperCinch Latch tightener and the LATCH system. This gets your car seat good and snug in your vehicle. You don’t want any wiggle room with the seat, and this ensures it’s installed correctly and securely without you sweating and cursing during the installation process.
Ease of Use
We could all use a little more easy in our life. I love how quickly and efficiently you can move your kid from place to place. The toll of taking care of little ones can leave you scatterbrained and exhausted. Having something like the Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System that can click together and install easily is a godsend.
Grows with Kiddo
Both the car seat and stroller are adjustable. There are newborn inserts for the car seat so you can use even if your little one comes out at just 4 pounds! After babies outgrow those, they can stay put in the car seat until they reach 30 pounds. For most people, that’s until 2 years old.
The stroller allows you to use both the car seat as a seat by removing the stroller seat. Otherwise, you can use them in the stroller seat itself until they reach 50 pounds. I don’t know about you, but that’s quite a long time! My little toddler can’t be contained to a stroller unless he is practically comatose, but having the option to tote him around is really beneficial.
Almost all of the features are travel friendly but there are a few that are particularly geared towards parents. For instance, the parent tray and cup holders. I love that it has two cup holders. One is for your beer and the other for your coffee. Just kidding, but let’s not rule that one out either.
It also has a tray that you can put your phone or whatever other small device or gadget you carry around. The storage space underneath the stroller is ample enough to throw the diaper bag and some shopping bags into.
Being able to fold the stroller open and closed with one hand couldn’t be simpler. The wheels actually situate themselves when it is folded that the whole thing can still stand upright on its own. This is a huge deal if you have tried other foldable strollers. My old stroller didn’t do this, and I don’t know how many times that thing crashed or tipped over while I was tending to my little guy.
Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System Pros and Cons
Let’s review the key things I like about the Chicco Bravo travel system and some things I think need improvement.
- Easy to transition from car seat to stroller
- Chicco’s focus on Safety
- Adjusts Almost Everywhere
- Not as Expensive as Some Travel Systems
- Trendy Beautiful Design
- I Love all of the Storage
- Wheels – I’m not a big fan of the plastic wheels. It’s a heavy duty plastic wheel but the plastic wheel still tends to wear down and lose their tread over time much quicker than a more durable bike style wheel.
- Only Forward Facing in Stroller – When my little guy was a newborn I wanted to watch him all the time I was taking him on a walk. You know how you check if they are breathing at night every hour or so? Same concept here. The Chicco Bravo system doesn’t allow the car seat to face you in the stroller.
- Car Seat Canopy – There are a lot of complaints about the canopy on the car seat and stroller. Trouble with canopy staying in place and issues with angle of canopy. I haven’t had any issues with the angle but I have noticed the canopy does not lock in a position very well.
- Buckle on Car Seat – If you have a larger baby you need to monitor the straps at the thighs. I don’t like to put my baby in his car seat if he isn’t wearing bottoms but some parents do. If that’s the case, some babies have experienced some red marks on their thighs. Something you should definitely check.
